I Can't Wait

Go out and see the "Secret Life of Bees" starring, Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson and Alicia Keys when it comes out in theaters on October 17th.
So I am really excited about seeing this movie. This is one of my favorite books. I hope they stay true to the story line. The trailer looks good so far.
Recently I watched "Imitation of Life", I use to say this was the most profound movie I ever had ever seen. This time it didn't seem as intense as it did years ago. It didn't seem to have the Umpf it did when I saw it for the first time.
I love watching movies and my favorites nowadays change often. My favorite is usually the last one I just saw. Although there are those that will stick with me for a lifetime. I can say that Color Purple, Crash, Spender in the Grass, Love Jones, A Beautiful Mind, The Great Debaters, Waiting to Exhale,The Matrix, Kapax, Beaches and Malcom X are just a few of my favorites. What are some of your all time favorite movies?

Sorry folks, I wanted to put links to the movies.. but somehow because of the video I could not.

...@ vrtuous, swap.. I should check that out, cause we have a slew of DVD sitting around.

@caj..girl I want you to watch Imatation of Life again and tell me if it was as intense for you. That's what i'm talking about my early rememberances of it was such a tear jerker, maybe I saw it to many times. I like the newer version over the 1939 version. I watched them both last week.

@Jennifer, is this movie available on DVD? I'd be interested.

Thanks for sharing this trailer. I love Carmen Jones, Imitation of Life, Love Jones, Imitation of Mildred Pierce, The Pursuit of Happyness, Dreamgirls, Introducing Dorothy Dandridge, A Time To Kill, A Raisin In The Sun (the original version), The Women (the original version), I love a good drama but must admit that I cry during most of these movies.

Wow that looks like an intense movie! I have to say Dakota Fanning is really starting to grow up, but she seems to stay grounded. And Jennifer Hudson is definitely making a name for herself WAY past American Idol. The movies you listed are really good, but they are intense. And they are more along the lines my DH likes, esp A Beautiful Mind and The Matrix.

Haven't read the Secret Life of Bees - should I read it before seeing the movie?

My faves are The Godfather I & II, The Red Violin (Sam Jackson was great in this movie - he really showed his range), the remake of Thomas Crowne Affair, Reds, The American President, and The Tamarind Seed.
