Tiye really picked it up quick.
Here is Nelerene's progress on Wednesday. She admitted to taking it out and starting over because somehow she ended up with 28 stitches and started with 20. I spoke to her yesterday and the funniest thing was when she said "I guess I am going home to knit"
I knew it was bound to happen sooner or later, because of course it's in her genes. I think it also has something to do with the fact that she is a busy body and likes to be doing something all the time. She is going on a cruise in a couple of weeks and wants to have something to do -- in case she gets bored. On Wednesday she picked out yarn for her first shawl... yes I said it... first shawl, but the catch is that she won't be knitting it. CAJ will. She needs it for those cool nights on the ship. I am hoping that it will inspire her to also knit a shawl later down the road. So far she is doing really well. She tends to be a perfectionist so, I know whatever she makes it will look good.
Okay, so the conventions are over and both were historic. The Democrats presented the nation with its first black nominee for President. The Republicans nominated a woman Vice President. . Now the real work begins. I fear it is going to be nasty.
Look what just got launched on the upcoming election. Be sure to click the video directly.http://www1.inews3.com/index.php?first=Sistahs+That&last=Knit&email=cecicarry@yahoo.com&comments=this+is+awesome&send=Send&iso=US
I couldn't watch it. I feel like it was just a waste of time. Same old Republican lies and negative slanders. Why should we trust the same party that controlled Washington for the last decade to do change themselves? McCain's speech suffered from the fact that all these issues he's trying to "change" were caused by his own party over the past eight years. He and the rest of the GOP mock Obama's "hope" and "change"... all while using those same words to promote their own ideologies.

Congratulations! I keep trying to infect my sisters, but nothing yet. Hopefully one day, I'll no longer be knitting alone.
OOh that is great!!! So glad your sister has been converted! Haha! :o)
Can't wait to see her projects! And knitting will be great for the days "at sea".
Gurl.....McCain just disgusts me! Ugh!
hee hee. Another convert. You've done well, my sistahs :D
Looks like you're starting them on the "good stuff". I started on some Red Heart and you've already got them working with Lamb's Pride. Great strategy. *lol* I'm going to steal it.
I try to convert family, but they do nothing but laugh at my "granny" hobby. But they have no problem begging me to make them stuff.
@melody... It's hard to figure out why they don't love the craft as much as we do
@crimson, she has started on a scarf, so far so good
@nik,, it's true I started on RedHeart too. When will we get people to realize this is an awesome hobby:D
Good observation, the Republicans have all but taken the cries for Hope and Change and have now aimed their campaign towards these same Obama slogans. Then, if that wasn't enough, they have the nerves to smile as they repeat them. *sigh* I too think it will get extremely nasty. It's almost as if this is not even about becoming president and representing the people......
Good deal on the women who seek to become knitters. I never realized how popular knitting is, until I began blogging.
That is so cool that you had an impromptu knitting circle. I wish I had a sister that I could inject the knitting fun into.
I wish I could infect my daughter. I've been trying to teach her for 30 years. Btw, I love the campaign video. Now I'm running for president, too. Where do you find this stuff?
Oh my, are we going to have to change our name to 3 Sistahs that Knit......Nerry you are well on your way to a great addiction....
love ya,
Cajtalk
What a great thing to pass your knitting along to other's in your family. I'm sure your teaching abilities are also what is making it easier for them to learn.

Just love that the young folks are catching on to a great hobby and a wonderful creative outlet. I have one daughter convinced & one to go.
Wahey!! Another knitter finds herself hooked.... You must be a fine teacher.

Okay...So now I want to learn!!!
Way to go Aunt Nelerene...Lai needs some ear muffs...up for the challenge?lol
Keep up the good work..Auntie C, when is my first lesson?
I don't know what but I think we are in violation of something here. I did not approve this post!! Oh Lord so much pressure. See this is why I don't cook either.
@nerry.. come on baby sis, it's not that hard..surely you know more about blogging than me. But I do think that once a person finds the Super Highway, there is no turning back!. How did we ever make it without technology. I would never give back my cell phone.
Maybe there is something in the water. Knitting Fever!!! all I know is I like it!.
Congrats to your sister! I have found that some are just naturals at knitting, just waiting for someone to show their fingers the right moves. Knit on, sister!
