Happy King Day

Here's a "Martin Luther King" journey map created by Mibazaar.
It maps out important events in Martin Luther King's life. The map automatically moves on to the next event in Rev. King's life. You can however manually move forward/back by clicking on the arrows located at the bottom left on the map.

Enjoying my day and trying to get some knitting in. Me and my girls are playing Scrabble as I try to get this post in. Sunny and bright here. I haven't played Scrabble in ages. It was my most favorite board game growing up. I am leading at the moment. Guess I still have it!

Hope you all have a great day♥

A couple of years ago I had an education conference in Atlanta. We had a tour and went to Ebenezer Baptist Church, adjacent to Dr. King's grave. Among the people who came to address our group were Dr. King's sister and the Rev. Joseph Lowery, who was awesome! It was an unforgettable day.

I visited Dr. King's grave and I sat in the new Ebenezer, which is across the street from the original church. What a solemn/proud moment. Thanks for sharing that journey map. Very cool.

Hugs to you both and a belated 'Happy Birthday!' to your mom. 85 years is a fabulous accomplishment. ;-)

I have to say, I owe MLK a lot. My husband is black, I'm not and we have the most amazing daughter. That would have been significantly less likely, if not impossible without his dream.

What a great map! Thank you for sharing. Hope you won the game. My 7-yr old loves Scrabble, but I am usually the one putting down the 3-letter words :-)

What a great post! We spent the day watching "Eyes on the Prize". My kids are getting a bit older now and it shed light on the significance of Pres. Obama for them.

Awesome map. I had to save the URL and take my time and really check out the different events which took place in Dr. King's timeline. This is my first time ever seeing something as detailed. Great find.

I didn't know Dr. King entered Morehouse at the age of fifteen. Impressive, as his entire life proved to be.
